Dear Salem Family,

​I hope you’re enjoying this season of Advent and Christmas (even though it’s been unseasonably warm!). I’ve been blessed by Salem this season, as the outrageous generosity of this house has released thousands of dollars to feed the hungry, empower former prisoners, and rescue girls from sex trafficking. You’ve got to love being a part of Salem Tabernacle! And we know that God has greater things in store for us in 2016…

​This is why I am calling on everyone to join me for three days of prayer and fasting next week, January 5-7. We all enter 2016 keenly aware of things we want and things we need, both for ourselves personally and our church corporately, and this is why we pray. As Tim Keller says in his book Prayer, “Indeed, prayer makes it safe for God to give us the things we most desire. It is the way we know God, the way we finally treat God asGod.” We will have many meetings, services and events over the course of 2016, but I sincerely believe these three nights of meetings will shape all those others. If we drop what we’re doing, deny ourselves, and show up ready to press into God, this next year of our lives will be unforgettable! Each night will have a theme:

Tuesday: prayer for our nation and our leaders, for healing, protection and spiritual awakening

​      Wednesday: prayer for the lost, that friends & family who are living without Jesus would follow him

​      Thursday: prayer for young people, that we’d see a spark of love ignited in the hearts of our children

​Please join me each night at 7:30PM (childcare will be provided). Get in on the “ground floor” of what the Spirit will do in this house in 2016!
