but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” [Acts 1:8]
“Thy kingdom come.” [Luke 11:2]
Jesus distilled the whole of the Law and the Prophets into two commands: love God completely, and love your neighbor as yourself. Not coincidentally, our love for God is expressed in our love for others [1 John 4:20]. All of our efforts to serve and minister to our fellow man, be it in our backyard or in the African bush, must flow from our love for God.
We have been blessed to bless. And the scope of our Global Outreach includes both physical and spiritual blessings. As a “covenant church” with Bread for the World, we have helped raise $100,000 in poverty-focused assistance. Salem Tabernacle partners with one of our overseers, Dale Van Steenis – the president of Leadership Strategies International (LSi), who distributed $50 million in humanitarian aid in 2005 (including the victims of the Asian tsunami and Katrina).
Of course, we also partner with ministries all over the world that we support each month.
